November 2010 Update

Hello MASHers,

Let's start with a hearty "congratulations" to Josh K., who took a Bronze medal at the 20th Sunshine Challenge in the Smoke-Flavored & Wood-Aged category! Congratulations are also in order for Josh's default win in last month's Spice/Herb/Vegetable BotY competition. Josh has had a great showing at competitions throughout the year and has a commanding lead in the 2010 BotY competition. Great job!

The MASH Winter Solstice gathering is scheduled for December 18th at Caroline & Eric's house. We'll be holding our December meeting during the gathering so please plan to come out. Please look forward to a message from Eric with directions and to coordinate the yummies. Assuming that the proposed BotY schedule is ratified, the BotY style will be an open category.

We'll be covering several administrative issues at this month's meeting:

Dues ($35 per family unit) are due by the December meeting.

We'll be voting to ratify (or update) the 2011 BotY styles that were sent out a couple of weeks ago.

We're taking nominations/volunteers for the officer positions for 2011. Please start that process by sending me an e-mail stating the position that you'd like to volunteer for or the position you'd like to volunteer another MASHer for. The elections will be held at the December meeting; only those who have paid their dues (see #1 above) will be eligible to vote (and to be nominated).

There will be Coconut Cup and Winter Solstice updates.
